Partnership with St. John's Lutheran Church
200 Pleasant Avenue
Warren, PA 16365
Beginning in 2011, First Lutheran Church has been providing pastoral care and support for the community at St. John's. The congregations share historical ties.
Conversations regarding the establishment of a Lutheran community in Pleasant Township began in 1949. A community survey indicated such a need existed. By 1951, First Lutheran's council authorized the purchase of two lots along Pleasant Drive for the purpose of building a church. A few years later the first worship services were held in the Grange Hall. The congregation was organized at a special service at First Lutheran on September 9, 1956 and the name of St. John's Lutheran Church was officially selected. The first pastor of St. John's shared his time between the two congregations.
St. John's celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at 9:30am.
